Cornell SC Johnson

One Universal Website

Challenge

Cornell SC Johnson came to Rebel with the opportunity to re-imagine their School of Business Website. They currently had multiple websites, all with different experiences, and wanted us to combine all 3 of their business schools into one universal website.

Process

The project started off with me doing pretty extensive research of Cornell's Higher Education competitors. From there, I put together a mood board of inspiration that lead me into a creative exploration. Before jumping into the designs, we needed to map out the user experience. I lead a whiteboard session with our team and drew out the wireframes as we talked through the flow of the homepage experience. We wanted to focus on encompassing all three of Cornell's Business Schools and information about them above the page fold. We decided to include 3 blocks of the schools overlapping with the hero video above the fold. Once the user scrolls past the hero section, the 3 school blocks will snap into place below the main navigation and become sticky - so the user can access that information at any point throughout the scroll.

Once we had a pretty good plan in mind, I put together wireframes in figma, and then eventually worked on the full component designs with another designer. Together we collaborated on pulling the most important elements of their brand guidelines, like fonts, colors and other assets, to help elevate Cornell into the future.

Conclusion

In efforts to unite Cornell SC Johnson's three business schools, the Rebellion Group put together a creative exploration of what their new homepage could look like. Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), we were able to address target audience perception and inform design and messaging strategy.

At the end of this project, myself and our data analyst filmed a video presentation for the Cornell team to better understand our process and expertise. Since then, we've made it to next round of presentations and are still in the running for getting to build their new website. Stay tuned!!!
